“Joy in Color” is an intimate artist profile of a Japanese woodblock printmaker Lynita Shimizu.

Shimizu has been practicing since the mid-seventies using the moku hanga method.”I get excited about the textures and the parts, but if it doesn’t give that joy or some kind of essence or spirit or feeling…then it’s not successful in my mind,” she says. This vignette, like others in the series, is designed to build trust and foster deeper, more genuine connections between artists and those who support them.
