In the Salt Lake Valley alone, thousands of acres of prime farmable real estate are used for lawn. As many of the residents of these homes age, those same lawns become expensive chores. Backfarms is nonprofit that connects community members with the time and desire to maintain gardens with homeowners who have the land to plant them on. This short film tells the story of how this program allowed one homeowner to stay in her home, and kept the garden that she had tended for decades with her late husband in full bloom.
